Essex County Merchant Mariner Maritime Union Program Class in Session!
Friday, November 9th, 2018
Merriam Webster defines growth as a stage in the process of growing or progressive development: to evolve and to expand. Educate The Block planted a seed long ago when two reconnected friends who wanted to create holistic approaches to meet the immediate and long-term needs of disadvantaged communities. Recognizing the need of over 7000 people on assistance in Hudson County and many are required to complete an occupational activity in the expectation of finding employment. Because of this need Educate The Block has worked diligently to develop and nurture programs for a niche market within the Welfare To Work population.
With the help of dedicated collaborators, Educate The Block has grown into a blend of creative programming, savvy instructors, and fresh philosophies. Collectively we motivate our students to stay engaged, stay the course, find employment and live fulfilled.
Educate The Block is happy to announce that through hard work, dedication, careful planning, and fine-tuning we have expanded to a new location that will house two of our up and coming programs. We first began our Merchant Mariner Maritime Union Program at our Jersey City location and because of the success of the program we were able to expand this program to be offered to not just the Hudson County residents but now Essex County residents as well. Doors opened Monday, November 5th, 2018 and classes are now in session!
We are grateful for the opportunity to expand and reach out to other communities whom we can engage, service and provide a place for growth and development. But this is not the end of Educate The Blocks contribution to Essex County or Hudson County. Coming December 2018 Educate the Block will begin yet another one of our up and coming programs. We at Educate The Block feel that our new Culinary Arts program will be a great addition to our academic opportunities for our students.
Stay tuned for more!
